Where is Azyr from?

Azyr is Oliver Rowley, from Blackpool in North West England. His early Visionary events and connection with Teletech helped take his music beyond the local scene.

Biography

Azyr is Oliver Rowley, a DJ and producer from Blackpool in North West England. While training in aerospace engineering at Rolls-Royce, he used the 2020 lockdown to teach himself to DJ, then began producing within six months. His Visionary nights at Bootleg Social gave him his first audience. Support for his tracks from Kander and 999999999 opened doors with Teletech, and his widely shared 2023 Boiler Room set brought his music to a much larger international audience.

His music moves between hard techno, Schranz, acid and hard dance, drawing on hardstyle and psytrance influences. Fast rhythms, forceful kicks and bouncing grooves give it a restless rave energy. The core of his selections remains the lively hard techno that shaped his rise in 2023, with industrial tracks appearing among a broader range of sounds. Through Speed Limit Records, which he launched in 2025, he also supports emerging producers with distinctive approaches to the harder styles.

He prepares his regular sets closely, shaping their sequence around changes in energy and the impact of each selection. All-night performances give him more space to tell a longer story and move freely through his musical range. His own productions and unreleased music sit within those sets, connecting the studio work to the dancefloor. An active presence behind the decks reinforces the physical, direct character of the music.
