P-01 Pulse Timepiece
Earth time. Pulse time. One dial. A timepiece conceived around the rhythm of 156 BPM.
Explore the P-01
Description
Three hands keep ordinary Earth time. A fourth moves to the Pulse: one step for every beat, an independent rhythm on the same dial. At 156 BPM, it completes a revolution in approximately 23 seconds.
The digital design study explores local Earth time, a running Pulse Time count, and a tempo adjustable from 140 to 170 BPM. The crown separates ordinary time-setting from Pulse tempo. This describes the design study; a physical movement and production specification remain to be developed.
The P-01 is the Institute’s most personal object: a way to carry its rhythm beyond a set. It does not claim to detect music, measure your body or scientifically measure the Pulse.
