Biography
Ben Techy is Scottish DJ and producer Ruairidh McKay, from Dundee. His catalogue reaches back to the 2010s: Audiotech Sound System introduced his Domination EP in 2016, pairing his original productions with remixes. His later work moves through hard techno and Schranz, with releases on several labels rather than a single imprint.
COUP released Rest In Hell in April 2024, followed by the Kein Vorbei EP on Techno Germany Records in July 2025. Kein Vorbei brought a more melodic, emotionally exposed side of his music to the foreground. German vocals are a deliberate musical texture, alongside the hypnotic techno and hard-groove influences he developed while growing up in Scotland.
His background includes mastering and teaching music production. Behind the decks, he works across four players, combining percussion, loops and vocals while responding to the room. Groove and changes in tension matter as much as the impact of the kick. MACH9 represents him for bookings and links a live recording and the Kein Vorbei music video on his artist page.
